Wigan Warriors forward Liam Farrell has said the Warriors are ready for the test of St Helens on Friday.
With Saints losing against Salford Red Devils last night, it means Wigan could overtake their bitter rivals with victory.
Farrell believes the challenge of facing Saints has come at the right time.
He said: “We certainly owe St Helens one. I have been in sides where we have gone five or six matches without losing to Saints, but it seems the shoe is on the other foot now.
“It probably means more to finish top with the way the league has been restructered. With Saints losing, it gives us a chance to go top.
“It would be a great time to go top, because then it would be ours to lose.
“Last week was the best 80 minutes to put together, now we have a real test and it has come in the right time.”
