Hull FC veteran Gareth Ellis has blasted his side’s woeful attitude in their 54-18 hammering by Salford Red Devils.
The former captain had high hopes for the team going into the match but insists they must get it right quickly should they wish to challenge for honours.
“We have plenty to correct.” Ellis said.
“It has been like this for a while now which is not good to see. We do not have very long to put things right so we must act now.
“The manner of the defeat was terrible, we are not showing any resolve or fight.
“We dropped far too much ball early on which kept inviting them back into the game and unfortunately, we then proceeded to roll over, we have to find the right attitude and desire.
“We did show some flashes of excitement in the match but we were ultimately outclassed in both attack and defence.
“The lads have suffered too many heavy scores against them in recent seasons and it is about time that is sorted too.
“We have been dark places like this before and come back so it is possible.
“We have to find that resilience and toughness when it counts should we want to stand any chance of winning silverware this season.”
