The officiating teams for Round Six of the Challenge Cup have now been confirmed, with referee Chris Kendall given a massive game.
Contrary to Super League fixtures this year, video refs will not be used in these fixtures, with none broadcast on live TV.
The biggest game of this weekend’s action is Leeds Rhinos v St Helens at Headingley, with Chris Kendall selected to be the man in the middle for a replay of last week’s Super League fixture that saw the Rhinos start quick but ultimately be reeled back in by the Red Vee.
Overseeing Castleford head coach Craig Lingard’s return to Batley Bulldogs will be Marcus Griffiths whilst Liam Moore will look to keep tensions low as two strong starters to 2024 clash in Hull KR v Salford Red Devils.
James Vella, Jack Smith, Aaron Moore and Tom Grant will also take games in Round Six.
Round Six marks the first round in which Super League sides enter the competition with all 12 teams being joined by the remaining four Championship sides.
Those four Championship sides are Sheffield Eagles, Batley Bulldogs, Halifax Panthers and Featherstone Rovers with Rovers having spectacularly knocked out rivals Wakefield Trinity in Round Five thanks to a golden point intercept try by Gareth Gale in a mudbath at the Millennium Stadium.
