Challenge Cup quarter-final draw: Warrington Wolves set for huge fixture

Leigh Leopards celebrate winning the Challenge Cup, as players pile-on. At Wembley Stadium.

The draw for the Challenge Cup quarter-final has been made, with a number of exciting fixtures in the final eight.

Batley Bulldogs, Featherstone Rovers, Halifax Panthers and Sheffield Eagles all lost in the previous round, meaning it’s an all-Super League affair.

All the winners at this stage will be 80 minutes from a potential place in a Wembley final.

The draw took place at 8:50pm on BBC Five Live, with Castleford Tigers, Catalans Dragons, Huddersfield Giants, Hull KR, Leigh Leopards, St Helens, Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors in the pot!

Darts stars Michael Cullen and Joe Cullen, St Helens and Wigan Warriors fans respectively, were taking part in the draw with the two still inside the draw.

The duo are the favourites for Super League glory and Challenge Cup glory in 2o24 and will meet this week on Good Friday in a huge Super League clash and a traditional Easter clash in Rivals Round.

But for this evening the focus was on the Challenge Cup draw.

Here is the draw in full:

St Helens vs Warrington Wolves
Hull KR vs Leigh Leopards
Catalans Dragons vs Huddersfield Giants
Castleford Tigers vs Wigan Warriors

The ties will take place over the weekend of April 13 and 14.

Challenge Cup quarter-finals set for huge fixtures

The two darts players have drawn some absolutely massive fixtures none more so than a meeting between St Helens and Warrington Wolves in a repeat of the 2019 Challenge Cup Final where heroics from current St Helens star Daryl Clark proved key for Warrington as they stunned the favourites.

That was the last time Warrington win the trophy whilst St Helens last won the trophy in 2021 against Castleford Tigers.

The Tigers take on Wigan Warriors at home in a repeat of the Round One fixture that kickstarted BBC’s coverage of Super League in 2024. Liam Watts was controversially sin binned that day. Wigan are looking to emulate their Challenge Cup glory from 2022 against the Huddersfield Giants.

They follow up their win over Hull FC in the last round with a trip over to the Catalans Dragons. They made history when they won the trophy in 2018 against Warrington.

One of the biggest games set up by the draw is the meeting between Hull KR and Leigh Leopards which is a repeat of last year’s final.
