Catalans Dragons interested in signing Hull FC forward and Huddersfield Giants half-back for 2024 season

Super League is wide open this season with plenty of teams still in the running for silverware but as it stands the ladder is led by Catalans Dragons, whilst both Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors face off this weekend in an effort to chase the Perpignan side down.

Something that is key to Catalans success this season is their impressive recruitment with the likes of Adam Keighran and Tom Johnstone being among two of Super League’s best signings in 2023.

That said though there is already reported to be a number of exits for 2024 with one that is confirmed being their full-back Sam Tomkins.

The former England captain has announced that he is to hang up the boots come the end of the season and thankfully for the Dragons they already have Frenchman Arthur Mourgue as a like for like replacement, something they ensured by tying him down to a contract extension earlier this season.

One key player that is also reported to be on his way out is prop Sio Siua Taukeiaho with the Daily Telegraph reporting that the former Rooster has told them he intends to return to the NRL, cutting his contract a year short.

He joined alongside Adam Keighran, another player that is confirmed to leave with Wigan Warriors having signed the verstaile back for 2024.

That all begs the question as to who replaces these exiting stars and Sky Sports’ Jon Wells reported some big names live on the broadcast before tonight’s Huddersfield and Hull FC game.

Ironically some of the Dragons’ targets are featuring in tonight’s game.

“Now, some transfer news, Catalan Dragons first, with five front-line players already confirmed as leaving the club. Sio Siua Taukeiaho is also now rumoured to be exiting the club.

“Recruitment links on the other hand include Hull FC’s Andre Savelio, Giants half Theo Fages and Cronulla playmaker Matt Moylan, so it looks like a rebuild could be on the cards in Perpignan.”
