Castleford Tigers set for another signing ahead of 2024

Castleford Tigers are expected to receive some major investment in the coming days.

An update on the Government’s Companies House revealed the addition of a new director in the shape of Real Estate giant Martin Jepson.

This is likely to be a major boost for the club on a number of levels with rumours that the club were not prepared to spend the full salary cap for next year partly due to the loss of TV money after the agreement of a slightly less fruitful deal with Sky Sports.

However, this could be about to change with Jepson’s investment and could lead to the signing of Luis Johnson or another potential target after it seemed that business was complete for the Tigers.

We know the Tigers are interested in further signings due to the comments of Head of Recruitment Danny Wilson who said they could target another area on BBC Radio Leeds and Jepson could give him the tools.

The Tigers have been reluctant to confirm this investment with the following statement all they had to say:

“Castleford Tigers would like to make the following statement surrounding the news of the addition of a new Director of the Club on Companies House.

“As many will be aware, the club has been actively looking for the right investors to come on board for a number of years. Although a new Director has been added to Companies House, we are not yet in a position to announce the full detail at this stage and we hope this is understood and appreciated by all. We are preparing for an official announcement and will be making a further statement by the end of next week.

“We look forward to sharing the full details of this positive news and we thank you for your continued support.”

Jepson’s involvement in the club could likely help their redevelopment of the Jungle thanks to his expertise in the Real Estate game.

The club are edging closer towards getting it done but have been stalled by the Environmental Agency over a flooding concern. They have the go ahead from British Highways.
