Greg Eden calls out Super League players for milking penalties

Over the last 12 months there has been a massive clamp down on players ‘milking’ penalties after heavy collisions.

This has even seen the green card rule tweaked going into the 2023 Super League season.

Now Castleford Tigers star Greg Eden has slammed players for doing it.

He said on the Fully game YouTube channel:

“Some players are playing for it to try and get a penalty and they’ll pretend but it’s not the way of the game.”

It is of course impossible to tell who is milking penalties and who has been seriously hurt by collisions.

But hopefully the green card rule will help keep the game honest as that is one of its best qualities.

The Tigers meanwhile need to call upon their best qualities to turn their season around.

Eden explained what they need to get back on track: “I think it’s team camaraderie. We’ve signed a couple of young lads from Hull KR and I think that’s what we’re missing. We’re all older , we’re an older squad of 29 to 33 ish.

“I think these next six weeks is massive, getting a few wins and Andy Last can start planning for next year.”

The Tigers have won just two of their opening 10 games scoring just 17 tries.

Hull FC’s win over Huddersfield Giants meanwhile has dropped them into 11th place the closest side to Wakefield Trinity at the foot of the table.
