This morning, Huddersfield Giants continued their preparations for the 2023 season with another exciting signing.
They signed versatile backrow Harvey Livett from Salford. The 25-year-old has signed a three year deal at the John Smith’s Stadium keeping him at the club until the end of th3 2025 campaign.
Livett spent two years at Salford after spells with Hull KR and Warrington where he played in the 2018 Challenge Cup Final defeat against Catalans as well as representing the England Knights.
Livett, who is also capable of playing centre, is the latest of a number of exciting signings brought in by boss Ian Watson explained the decision to bring Livett to Huddersfield underlining the developing culture and standards at the Giants.
On the club website, Ian Watson said: “Harvey is exactly the kind of player that we want to have involved in this organisation and we’re excited for him to join up with the squad. I have a lot of faith in him, I’ve told him that, he’s a hard worker who offers size and speed. He can add versatility and another dynamic that will be a great addition to our side.
“Having players like Harvey in the team is important in driving the culture and improving the standards across the board in moving towards what we want achieve – consistently competing for Cup Finals and being at the top of the table in the Betfred Super League. Harvey is a player I know well and we can’t wait to have him in the team”
Livett follows in the footsteps of Esan Marsters, Jake Bibby and Kevin Naiqama in signing for the Giants who want to build on their third place finish in 2022.
