Jake Connor breaks silence on Hull FC future after being linked with sensational move

Jake Connor is an absolute maverick – everyone knows that.

For the past few months, however, the Hull FC fullback has been linked with a move to NRL side Canberra Raiders after topping the try assist charts for the Black and Whites.

It was thought a move was just around the corner earlier in the season, but then it all suddenly went quiet with no further update or speculation.

And, that move now doesn’t seem to be happening, with Connor admitting he’s ‘not too sure’ on whether he wants to test himself in the NRL yet, but that his main aim is to win silverware with Brett Hodgson’s side.

When asked by Sky Sports pundit Jon Wells on Sky Sports: The Detail about if he had ever considered going to the NRL, Connor replied: “Never until the last year or so, and I thought maybe give it a crack.

“I’m not too sure on that at the moment, but I want to get back fit and win some silverware.”

That will be music to Black and Whites’ fans ears with the maverick fullback enjoying a stellar season for Hodgson, topping the try-scoring charts with clear daylight between him and second placed Tui Lolohea of the Huddersfield Giants.

Connor took part in a new show alongside Wells called Sky Sports: The Detail which was a special piece on the Hull fullback detailing his thought process, his character and aims for the future in a 20-minute show.

It was an innovative piece of television with Connor joining Wells at the touchscreen to run through some plays that the Hull number one has put on in the past few months – including his six assist haul against the Salford Red Devils early on in the season.

For now, though, it looks as though Super League fans will be treated to more of Connor in the immediate future.
