Woolf unsure on Lomax injury

St Helens Head Coach Kristian Woolf admits he is unsure at this time of the severity of the injury suffered by halfback Jonny Lomax.

Lomax limped off during Saints’ 42-12 win over Leigh Centurions on Thursday, and Woolf admits he is a doubt to face Warrington Wolves on Monday.

Woolf said he will be sent for a scan as soon as possible.

He said: “He’s copped something around the hamstring region. It was a funny one in terms of how it happened and him getting caught in an awkward position.

“At the moment, we don’t quite know how bad it is. We will hope for the best, and we will find out over the next couple of days when we can get a scan.

“He’s one of our best players, and he has been for a long time. Whether it is one game or two games, he will be a loss. All the early signs are that he won’t be fit for Monday at least.”
