Warrington signing suffers horrific ACL injury

New Warrington signing James Harrison has had surgery to repair a torn ACL suffered in Featherstone’s win over York last weekend.

Harrison will be moving to the Halliwell Jones Stadium after a fruitful few years at Featherstone, but the towering forward will play no more part in Rovers’ promotion push.

The 25-year-old posted a post-surgery photo on his Instagram with this caption:

“So as some of you may have heard, I tore my ACL against York last weekend and had surgery this morning. I’m absolutely gutted that my 3 years at @fevroversrlfc has ended like this.

I have loved every single minute playing for this amazing club and I have every faith that the boys can go on and win promotion for you fans because nobody deserves it more.

It’s obviously been a tough week but this is all part of the journey. I’ve got a great support team around me and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the rehab, I will come back bigger and better ready for a huge 2022.”
