Hull FC secure another signing as rebuild continues

Hull FC have confirmed the loan signing of Yusuf Aydin from Hull KR.

The forward joins the Black and Whites on a short-term deal, which the club have described as adding ‘further depth’.

He made his debut for Wakefield Trinity in 2020, and has since made 50 senior appearances.

This year, he’s only made two appearances for the Robins, but made seven in 2023.

He will join up with the first-team squad today ahead of the club’s game against Leeds Rhinos.

This signings comes alongside the signings of Ed Chamberlain and Tom Briscoe from Leigh Leopards this week.

Hull FC loan prop from neighbours Hull KR

Hull KR confirmed the news in a club statement: “Hull KR can confirm prop forward, Yusuf Aydin will join Hull FC on a two-week loan with immediate effect.

“The 23-year-old has made 9 appearances for the Robins since signing with the club ahead of the 2023 season.

“Aydin heads across the River Hull for Super League Round 9 and Round 10.

“The club wish Yusuf the best of luck during his loan spell.”

In their statement, Hull FC stated: “We are pleased to confirm the loan signing of Yusuf Aydin from Hull KR.

“The Turkish international prop joins the club on a short term loan to add further depth to the Black & Whites’ forward options.

“Aydin will join up with the first-team squad today ahead of Sunday’s Betfred Super League Round 9 fixture against Leeds Rhinos.

“He is the club’s second loan addition this week, following the loan signing of Ed Chamberlain which was confirmed yesterday, alongside the permanent addition of winger Tom Briscoe, who rejoins the club on an 18-month contract.”

More players expected at FC

Aydin joins Chamberlian and Briscoe through the door at the MKM Stadium this week and there will no doubt be more players to follow with Richie Myler a busy man since arriving as Director of Rugby.

The former Leeds Rhinos, Salford Red Devils and Warrington Wolves player is tasked with overhauling a failing Hull team, while also searching for a new head coach following the sacking of Tony Smith.

Who that coach will be though remains to be seen, after Salford boss Paul Rowley rejected a contract offer from the Airlie Birds earlier this week.

Rowley has instead opted to stay with the Red Devils, leaving Myler and Chairman Adam Pearson with plenty to do as the Black & Whites prepare for their second game under interim coach Simon Grix.

Hull face another struggling side, Leeds Rhinos, at the MKM Stadium on Sunday.
