Castleford Tigers fans worried after London Broncos draw

Castleford Tigers

Despite going into the game as heavy favourites, Castleford Tigers were unable to beat newly promoted London Broncos on Sunday.

Castleford got off to a quick start, scoring the first try just four minutes into the game. They received a Six Again call and then passed the ball wide to Sam Wood, who made his debut for the club, and he powered over for the try. On his return, Danny Richardson kicked the goal to make the score 6-0 for Castleford.

Castleford tried to maintain the pressure, but London Broncos soon equalized from their first attack. A kick by Meadows allowed Storey to touch down, making the score 6-6.

However, Innes Senior scored twice for Castleford, one before half-time and the other just after, to make it 14-6. London Broncos were back in the game when Oli Leyland scored and converted a try, making the score 14-10. Liam Horne was sin-binned for a late hit, and London Broncos took advantage of that, scoring another try from Hakim Miloudi, who was making his debut. However, the conversion was missed, making it 14-14.

The game ended in a draw, with Castleford missing a late chance to win the match.

The result left Castleford fans worried as they took to social media after the game. Naturally, one worry was about the three injury concerns for the Tigers especially after the injury to Alex Mellor last week.

One fan said: “Fingers crossed on the injury front – hopefully Griffin, Milnes and Westerman aren’t too bad.”

Meanwhile, another fan was far more worried about their attack’s short comings in the game saying: “The attack looks terrible. Hoping it improves or it will be a long season.”

Unsurprisingly, some fans fear 2024 will be a rerun of last year saying, “Same as last year then,” whilst another added, “Nice to see nothing has changed.”

Lastly one fan ‘begged’ for this to be a case where pre-season means nothing: “Let’s hope it’s just a case where pre-season means nothing. I’m begging.”
