Bizarre drone incident at Hull KR explained

On Sky Sports we have seen a classic encounter between two of the top teams in the Super League.

It was a clash between second and third in the league.

The first half was exhilarating to say the least but at the start of the second period we saw something strange indeed.

Wigan added to their lead through Liam Marshall but straight after that the players and officials left the pitch briefly due to a drone lingering above the pitch.

They weren’t off for long with the players returning and Harry Smith missing the goal.

Speaking on Sky Sports, reporter Kyle Walker has explained why players were forced to leave the field because of a report that detailed drones’ connection with terrorism and other dangers.

“It is just an update on this drone, everyone noticed it from down here at pitch side.

“I have been doing some digging and research and a report was made into the threat of drones, what they pose and what they can do to sports stadiums.

“The report was done in football and said that drones can be connected to larger concerns such as terrorism, loss of power, or visibility to the drone could cause harm to players or personnel on the pitch.

“That is why everyone had to leave the pitch.”
