Super League star in really worrying situation reveals coach

Ian Watson is hoping to get back to winning ways as Huddersfield Giants take on Leigh Leopards tonight.

He made two changes to his squad with Owen Trout, who is expected to sign for Leigh, and Sam Halsall out of the squad after last week’s defeat.

Watson explained:

“Matty English has just come back in, Owen Trout has hurt his knee last week in the game. He was fine but it’s flared up this week so we’re going to send him for an MRI scan just to double check it.

“Sam Halsall has dropped out and Jake Bibby has come back into the squad so Sam unfortunately misses out on that.”

Meanwhile, second-row Josh Jones is still out and it sounds like a worrying situation:

“No update, he’s still seeing specialists. We had a specialist who cleared him but then he came back with another couple of symptoms so he’s now had to go and see somebody else.

“So we don’t know, we don’t know where he is at this moment in time to be fair.

“He’s just got to do what he’s doing and then the specialist should say and let us know where he’s at.

“I can’t put a time frame on it, it’s way out of our hands that one.”
