Kyle Amor makes massive claim about St Helens’ win over Penrith

Former St Helens man Kyle Amor has come up with a massive statement after their World Club Challenge win over Penrith Panthers today.

The Saints stunned the NRL Champions going 10-0 up in the first half.

They were pegged back at 12-all but a Lewis Dodd drop goal in extra time won the world title for the Saints in the end.

After that his former teammate Amor claimed it was the “greatest win” in Super League history.

The prop told Channel 4: “They are the Champions the last four years and to go down under and win in the lions’ den, they have come up with the performance to put Super League on a world stage.

“I cannot stress how big that moment is, that is probably the best and greatest win ever in Super League.”

He also gave his verdict on whether Jack Welsby should go to the NRL:

“He needs to get that test week in week out, with Jack there will be a price tag put on his head.”

He then went on to say he thinks the Super League Champions are unstoppable.

“Saints had all the excuses, they lost Tommy Makinson. That is an enormous win for Super League and for St Helens.

“They are going to enjoy that and then they will fly home and take on Castleford Tigers.

“Who can stop Saints this year.”
