Salford Red Devils vs Swinton Lions: Kick-off time and team news as debuts ready

Salford Red Devils had a fantastic season in 2022. Playing mesmeric rugby, the Red Devils revived their season at the halfway mark climbing all the way to the play-offs and making the semi-finals and giving Champions St Helens a run for their money.

Unlike in previous years when Salford have enjoyed success, the Red Devils have kept their star players together ahead of the 2023 campaign and are looking to kick on and have the chance to get ready for the new season against Swinton Lions today.

Here is everything you need to know about the game as Paul Rowley’s side hope to sharpen their arsenal full of weapons ahead of the new season so that they can again be the entertainers in Super League in 2023.

An early kick-off at the AJ Bell Stadium with the clash kicking off at 13:00.

Team News

It will be a big test for Ryan Brierley today. He scored his first Salford try in this fixture last year and as he returns from injury he wants to show he is ready for the new season. Meanwhile, star outside backs Ken Sio and Tim Lafai feature.

Skipper Kallum Watkins is absent as he returns from surgery whilst Joe Burgess is also absent. Star halfbacks Brodie Croft and Marc Sneyd feature as does new signing from Wigan Warriors Oliver Partington.

Warrington Wolves loanee Ellis Longstaff is in line to play whilst Joe Coope-Franklin and Billy Walkley will celebrate their promotion to the first team squad with game time today.
