Super League target set to join new club in the coming days depending on major exit

Super League target

Wests Tigers have been busy this off-season.

Their activity culminated in signing Wigan Warriors star John Bateman on Boxing Day on a huge four year deal.

This came after the club had let Jackson Hastings leave to Newcastle Knights as the former Wigan and Salford Red Devils halfback was used in a swap deal for David Klemmer.

But they are not finished there. They are still interested in star halfback Mitchell Moses from Parramatta Eels for 2024 and are inching closer to signing another Eel immediately.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that last year’s beaten Grand Finalists the Eels are willing to offload Nathan Brown who commands a $600,000 wage to ease their salary cap with Brown set to rejoin his former club the Tigers for 2023.

This would open the door for the Eels to complete their long pursuit of Super League target Marty Taupau.

The prop, who was previously chased by Leeds Rhinos in years gone by, was again linked with a move to Super League as the CBA negotiations persisted leaving the NRL salary cap unsure and his future in limbo.

This sparked interest from Super League clubs keen to exploit the situation with the likes of Catalans Dragons and Leigh Leopards likely interest in brining in the forward.

Meanwhile, five NRL clubs were said to be interested in him but according to the Daily Telegraph he is set to joins the Eels.
