Ex-Castleford Tigers, Hull FC and Huddersfield Giants man given playing contract down under

Jordan Rankin spent time with three Super League clubs during his career,

After 17 appearances at Gold Coast Titans, he joined Hull FC in 2014 in which he scored 24 tries in 50 appearances prior to returning to Australia with Wests Tigers.

After 23 appearances with the club, he returned to Super League with Huddersfield but spent plenty of time on loan with Castleford Tigers.

After which he returned to Australia with the Parramatta Eels.

He hasn’t made any NRL appearances for the Eels but played in the NSW Cup and has been working behind the scenes since and has been confirmed on the coaching staff for their Under 19s for 2023

Rankin will take the role of assistant coach with their Under 19s in 2023 as he hopes to try and develop the next generation of Parramatta stars as the club looks to go one step further than they did in 2022 coming up short in the Grand Final against Penrith who know all about developing young players.

Rankin’s experience playing a number of positions will make him a real asset to the Eels as he will be able to coach a number of players in a variety of positions whilst his skill level will also make him an ideal coach.

Despite the role he will play amongst the coaching staff next season, Rankin has also been given a train and trial contract at the club similar to fellow former Hull FC man Josh Reynolds.

This means we could yet see Rankin play and even earn a place in the club’s top 30.
