The busiest week in Super League continues.
The busiest club has perhaps been Hull FC who on Tuesday announced the triple loan signing of Jack Walker, Josh Simm and Ellis Longstaff ahead of their huge Magic Weekend derby against Hull KR as both chase a play-off spot.
They also revealed that Jake Trueman will join the club in 2023 on a three year deal and have been linked with NRL halfback Kyle Flanagan.
A lot of incomings but today there has been an outgoing with Josh Bowden joining Wakefield on a deal until the end of 2023.
The fact he has signed for next season also suggests that Wakefield are still confident of avoiding relegation.
He joins with immediate effect and the 30-year-old will bring plenty of size at 6 foot 7.
It’s likely that he’ll be unavailable for Wakefield’s huge clash with Toulouse at the Magic Weekend however but that will become clear when Trinity announce their squad later today.
It also now seems that Wakefield’s deal for Jorge Taufua is done with Manly Sea Eagles announcing on Twitter today that he has been released to join Super League.
“I am grateful for the countless memories and experiences with my brothers I went to battle with,” the big forward said, “Manly will always be with me.”
The club also gave him his best wishes as he gets ready for a new challenge.
Trinity have struggled recently conceding over 100 points combined in their last two games as they suffered losses to Salford, in which the Red Devils racked up 74 points, and Wigan.
They face bottom club Toulouse at the Magic Weekend on Saturday knowing that defeat would leave just a two point gap between the two creating a real battle for survival.
So, it’s a must win game for Trinity and defeat would leave them in a perilous situation. Either way, Wakefield need to find some form especially with Toulouse enjoying a flurry of home games in the next month where they are very tough to beat.
The arrival of these two is a massive boost and could turn their season around.
