Leigh v Leeds: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Winless Leigh host play-off chasing Leeds this evening. The Centurions were outstanding last time out against Hull KR and a repeat of that performance could lead them to victory against a Leeds side who come into the game on the back of a disappointing defeat to Castleford.

On the back of such an encouraging performance against Hull KR, I can see Leigh making very few changes ahead of this clash. Nathan Mason, who was in line to feature against the Robins, could come back onto the bench whilst Brendan Elliot may take over at fullback if fit prompting Keanan Brand to move onto the wing and Junior Sa’u to return to the centres. Adam Sidlow and Josh Eaves will both keep their places in the starting 17 after superb showings last time out.

As for the Rhinos, for the first time all season they’ll name their first choice halfback pairing of Rob Lui and Luke Gale. It’ll be their 11th halfback pairing of the season shining a light on the injury problems they’ve faced this year and they’ve again gotten worse in recent weeks with Mikolaj Oledzki and Alex Mellor out for the season. Skipper Matt Prior is also absent due to self-isolation and King Vuniyayawa misses out through HIA protocols. Thus, the Leeds pack will need a re-jig. Tom Holroyd, who scored against the Centurions at Headingley, could start at prop whilst Cameron Smith should be rewarded for his superb form with a start at loose-forward prompting Zane Tetevano to move into the front row.
