WATCH: Horror tackle leaves star lifeless

Rugby League mistake

St George Illawarra Dragons centre Tyrell Fuimaono is set for a hefty ban after he was sent off for a high and late tackle that left Melbourne Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen out cold on the floor.

Papenhuyzen set up a try in the 11th minute for Josh Addo-Carr, but Fuimaono hit the fullback high after he passed the ball.

“Papenhuyzen has been left flattened by Fuimaono,” Andrew Voss said on Fox League.

“There is massive drama here. Papenhuyzen hasn’t moved. The Storm have scored, but the hit by Fuimaono on Papenhuyzen could be the story.”

“He has hit him high and he has not moved Ryan Papenhuyzen,” Greg Alexander added.

“The Dragons will be down to 11 players (Josh McGuire was sin-binned moments earlier).”

“All the concern here is with Ryan Papenhuyzen who remained still from the moment he hit the ground,” Voss said.

“Based on what we have seen this weekend it is sin bin minimum, but we are talking send-off we believe.”

“I’m sure it will be a send-off,” Alexander said.

“For a player to be down like that it comes into account because the injury to a player always comes into account when the referees are making up their minds.

Papenhuyzen was taken from the field via medicab, with Nicho Hynes able to return following a successful passing of a HIA.

Referee Peter Gough had no choice but to send Fuimaono off.
