Wakefield add London prop

Wakefield Trinity have confirmed the signing of London Broncos forward Eddie Battye on loan until the end of the season.

Battye has been with the Broncos since 2016, and helped the squad to promotion to the Super League two years later. He was then an integral part of the pack for the Broncos in the first tier.

Speaking on his move to Trinity, Battye said: “I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in at Wakefield.

“I’ve kept myself ready throughout this period and I’m really excited to get the chance to get some minutes at Wakefield, a great and historic club.

“I enjoyed my year in Super League last year and I’m looking forward to playing in Super League once again.”

Head Coach, Chris Chester, added: “I’m pleased to welcome Eddie to the club on a loan deal until the end of the season.

“Eddie will boost our pack and gives us some depth there with the games coming thick and fast.

“He showed what can do at Super League level with London last year, and I’m looking forward to working with him for the remainder of 2020.”
