Grant Millington has faced a serious disruption in his attempts to get back home to Australia.
Millington had been a firm Castleford Tigers’ fan favourite after being at the Jungle for over a decade, joining the club way back in 2012 and registering almost 250 appearances in Castleford colours.
His retirement was announced at the end of the 2021 season, with a touching farewell game taking place at Wakefield Trinity’s Mobile Rocket Stadium over the weekend.
However, after attempting to catch a flight back Down Under, Millington – who has had three kids with his partner whilst being in the UK – has spoken of his frustration about his flight being cancelled.
The former prop wrote: “I’d like to thank @etihad for cancelling our flight for our move back to Aus. Shipping coming tomorrow. House is sold. 3 young kids. I understand there are limited people allowed in to Aus at the moment. But surely you could have given us more than 4 days notice.”

That tweet prompted Adam Milner – who has played alongside Millington since his arrival back in 2012 – to hanker the Aussie to sign on for one more year.
