Zane Tetevano given lengthy ban

Leeds Rhinos forward Zane Tetevano has been suspended for four matches after his red card in the Betfred Challenge Cup third round defeat to St Helens.

Tetevano, who had never previously been sent off in his ten year career, was dismissed in the 44th minute for a challenge on Saints half back Theo Fages.

He had been charged with a Grade D offence of striking. Whilst the New Zealand international pleaded guilty, the grading was challenged at the RFL disciplinary hearing. The panel decided that the grading was correct and issued a four-match suspension with a £500 fine. Tetevano has the option to appeal the decision.
