Zak Hardaker seems to have filled the news in recent weeks.
Since getting dropped by Wigan Warriors boss Matty Peet for ‘dipping’ below standards, Hardaker’s exit was confirmed and then within a week, his move to Leeds Rhinos has been signed off.
Now, he has taken part in his first training session since rejoining the club where he made his name all those years ago.
“I’ve really enjoyed it (his first training session), I was quite nervous before coming, going down Kirkstall Road to get to training, I was getting a few flashbacks,” Hardaker told the Leeds Rhinos Youtube channel.
“I was getting a few butterflies on the way in but there’s still a few old faces here.”
Having been in the Wigan side for most of the 2022 Super League season, there are no concerns over Hardaker’s fitness and he could play in Leeds’ fixture at Hull KR on Friday night.
“I’ve got no injuries so it’s just a case of if I get picked by Jonesy (Jamie Jones-Buchanan), but I’m available.
“It’s been really good to get on the old ground there and get the ball through some hands, playing in a different system.
“We will go from there and see if I play Friday.”
