In a boost for Super League teams and fans based in Yorkshire, it was announced at the end of last year that Perpignan will be a new destination for Ryanair flights from Leeds-Bradford airport.

The news provided a much easier route when attending Catalans Dragons away games, with the Stade Gilbert Brutus Stadium just a six-minute drive from Perpignan Airport.

It was said that flights would go twice weekly from the Yorkshire-based airport, on Mondays and Thursdays, starting from 1st June 2023.

They will run through to 31st October before restarting again in June the following year.

This is a huge boost for Super League teams and fans who have matches away against Catalans Dragons between these times, having previously had the task of travelling to Perpignan via Barcelona.

Between June and the end of October, the Dragons have home fixtures against the likes of Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants, giving those teams and their fans the chance to travel direct to Perpignan ahead of the game.

In a bigger boost for fans, these flights are now set to start in March and some prices are less than £10.

In fact one Castleford Tigers fan on Twitter pointed out that the week of their clash away at Catalans on April 1st, Tigers fans can book a flight for as little as £21.88.
