York sign Super League winner

York City Knights have completed the loan signing of centre Jimmy Keinhorst from Hull KR for the 2020 season.

Keinhorst started his career at Leeds Rhinos, and was part of the team that won the treble in 2015.

However, he struggled to hold down a regular starting place at the Rhinos. He had several loan spells, including two at Hunslet, and also at Wakefield and Widnes, before he left the club permanently.

The German International ended up moving to the east side if Hull, in order to get more first team action.

The centre made an immediate impact at his new club. His first game saw him go up against Rovers’ bitter cross-city rivals Hull FC, and he scored the winner with seconds remaining.

Head Coach James Ford told the club website: “I’d like to applaud the efforts of the supporters, sponsors and specifically Squadbuilder for facilitating this acquisition.

“Jimmy will bring strike and threat to our edges, added experience and intelligence to our preparation. I’ve spoken to a number of people regarding Jimmy’s attitude and approach and I’m very confident he’ll further enhance our culture.”
