York City Knights have confirmed the signing of experienced forward Danny Washbrook from Hull FC.
The 33-year-old was revealed as one of several players leaving the Black and Whites at the end of 2019 but has now put pen to paper on a deal with James Ford’s side.
Washbrook brings a wealth of experience to the Knights, having played over 300 professional games since debuting for Hull in 2005.
He has also had a spell with Wakefield and spent time on dual-registration with Doncaster earlier this season.
He may yet add to his Super League games tally, with York still battling for promotion in the Championship play-offs.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of helping the club keep progressing the way they have under James’ leadership,” he said.
“Having spoken to a number of players current and past they spoke highly about all aspects of the club and that excited me.”
York head coach James Ford added: “I’m very pleased to bring a player with such professionalism to the club. Danny has a wealth of experience that will help improve our culture further and directly impact on the younger players in the squad.
He’s a very intelligent rugby player who will benefit all aspects of our performance. I’m looking forward to working with Danny.”
