Last night York RLFC revealed their 2023 playing shirts, produced by Oxen, ahead of the new campaign and a new era for the club after a rebrand and the appointment of new coach, former Warrington Wolves assistant, Andrew Henderson who is joined by player-coach Danny Kirmond formerly of Wakefield Trinity.
However, the reveal was somewhat overshadowed by the heart break of England’s Rugby League World Cup semi-final defeat to Samoa in Golden Point.
The new jerseys were showcased yesterday evening at a kit launch event at Thor’s Tipi in York City Centre.
The club’s new principal shirt is a black design featuring striking amber and white chevrons for a modern take on a traditional rugby league design.
The alternate shirts are predominantly white with a black chest, featuring amber and grey chevrons.
For the first time, the men’s and women’s teams – the Knights and the Valkyrie – have a different group of shirt partners in a move that continues to cement the fact that the Women’s Super League is becoming its own entity.

What’s the point of the old photo at the head of the article, other than to confuse people?
