Tom Inman has become the latest player who featured on loan for York Knights in 2026 to sign a permanent deal for 2027 and beyond.
Inman was loaned in by the Knights in May, arriving from Newcastle Thunder, and he’d become a mainstay in the York side just as fellow loanees David Nofoaluma and Cody Hunter did.
Nofoaluma and Hunter recently signed permanent deals with the Knights and Inman has followed in their path, inking a two-year contract with the Super League club.
The 23-year-old played 13 games for York in 2026 after his mid-season loan move and those performances have seen him rewarded with a permanent deal at the club.
Inman had joined Newcastle early in the season after his former club Halifax Panthers hit financial troubles and after impressing with the North East side, he quickly was loaned in by the Knights whose coach Mark Applegarth he was very familiar with.

As well as confirming permanent deals for the likes of Inman, Nofoaluma and Hunter, York have also signed Cam McInnes and Blake Lawrie from down under, whilst adding Super League players Max Jowitt, Matty English and Zak Hardaker as they look to build on an impressive first year in Super League.
Speaking on signing his permanent deal, Inman said: “I’ve loved my first year in Super League with York and I’m really excited to have signed for the next 2 years.
“I’m looking forward to the 2027 season and seeing what we can achieve.”
Head coach Mark Applegarth added: “I’m really glad Tom has taken his chance.
“He’s a kid that I’ve watched from age 16 at Warrington and it’s really good to see him transferring what we all knew he could do into Super League.”
