York claim incredible win against Toronto

York City Knights have handed Toronto their first ever league defeat with a remarkable 26-16 win over the Wolfpack at Bootham Crescent.

Tries from Jake Butler-Fleming and two from Liam Harris saw the Knights race into an 18-0 half-time lead.

Inevitably Toronto came back in the second half as scores from Ryan Brierley, Bob Beswick and Craig Hall made it close.

However, Connor Robinson’s try and five goals were enough to see the hosts run out deserved 10-point winners to the delight of a capacity crowd.

The result, which will give York a huge boost for the remainder of the season, was massively unexpected with the Wolfpack expected to go the entire league season and Super 8s unbeaten.
