Yet another ban given out in busy week for match review panel as player charged for headbutt

It has been another busy week for the Match Review Panel.

On Monday they handed out 17 charges to 16 players in Super League.

There were three bans to two players in the shape of Paul Vaughan of Warrington Wolves and Liam Hood of Wakefield Trinity who has picked up two bans for dangerous contact charges,

Now there has been another ban given out today.

James Meadows of the Batley Bulldogs has been given a two match ban for head butting Bradford Bulls’ Tom Holmes on Sunday.

He has also been fined £125.

There are there are three more fines whilst Olivia Grace of Featherstone Rovers Women has also been banned for two games.

Though we cannot know if Meadows or Grace will appeal their bans, no Super League player has appealed their ban this week.

Following the latest round of Betfred Championship, Betfred League One, Betfred Women’s Super League and Academy fixtures, the Match Review Panel have issued the following sanctions:

Bailey Brett (St Helens Reserves) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – £25 fine
Matthew Henson (Workington Town) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – £40 fine
Kieran Moran (Midlands Hurricanes) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – £40 fine
James Meadows (Batley Bulldogs) – Grade D Head Butting – 2 Match Penalty Notice & £125 fine
Loui McConnell (Doncaster) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – £40 fine
Olivia Grace (Featherstone Rovers Women) – Grade D Dangerous Contact – 2 Match Penalty Notice
