World Champion comes up with amazing idea that would underline the sporting supremacy of St Helens

On February 18th, St Helens have the chance to be crowned world champions.

It is an accolade that has unfortunately eluded this St Helens dynasty due to circumstance and would help cement them as arguably the greatest Super League side ever.

The Saints head down under and will play St George Illawarra Dragons in a warm up match on the 11th February prior to meeting NRL Champions, back-to-back Champions no less, Penrith Panthers for the right to be called Champions of the World.

St Helens though already have a world champion in the shape of Michael Smith.

The St Helens fan delivered a superb nine dart finish as he defeated favourite Michael van Gerwen in the PDC World Championship Final of darts which saw Castleford Tigers’ commentator Mick Morgan’s famous line “I can’t speak” repeated.

After the victory, Smith cemented himself as a Saints with a Tweet saying “never write off a Saint” echoing what Eddie Hemmings of Sky Sports would often say of the Saints in Super League.

Following this, Smith has come up with a genius idea that would truly show the sporting prowess of St Helens as he pitched the idea to have him and his World Championship trophy come together with the Super League trophy at the Totally Wicked Stadium in front of the famous Red V.

He said:

“One thing I really want to do and would love to do is stand on the half way line with the boys with the league leaders and grand final trophy on there side and the World Championship on mine with that mighty Red V in background.”
