Workington retain experienced forward

Workington Town forward Danny Tickle has signed a new contract to stay at the club for the 2020 season.

The 36-year-old has a wealth of Super League experience having played for Wigan, Hull FC, Hull KR, Widnes and Castleford.

He also has Championship experience with Halifax and Leigh Centurions as well as being a former England international.

Head Coach Chris Thorman said on the club website: “Ticks really is the model professional.

“He was outstanding as soon as I arrived midway through last season, setting the standard in everything good the team did.

“He has great standards in everything he does, both on and off the field.

“One of our most experienced and respected members of the squad, who I’ll be looking at to lead from the front.

“We made sure that Danny was signed on for next season very early on, as he still has so much to offer.

“I’m very pleased we’ve managed to retain his services.”
