St Helens Head Coach Kristian Woolf praised his side’s response after their 34-16 win over Hull FC at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
Saints returned to winning ways this week, after losing last Saturday in the south of France against Catalans Dragons.
He said: “I was partciualry happy with the first half. I thought we responded really well. We had a different energy about us- you could see we wanted to work hard.
“Last week, while we created chances, but a bit of ill-discipline meant we couldn’t quite nail it. But this week we had a much better mind set.
“It’s funny when your heads in the right place for a game, you tend to get a lot more things right. Thats what we were tonight and not what we were last week.
“I was really happy with how we responded. I thought we were really good tonight.”
Woolf also gave an update on Mark Percival and Agnatius Paasi, who were both taken off. However, Woolf stressed it was just as a precaution.
He added: “Both had tight hamstrings. It is a little bit as a result of the travel and short turnaround. It was just a precaution and I expect both of them to be alright for next week.”
