Woolf not concerned over venue change

22nd February 2020, Totally Wicked Stadium, St Helens, England; World Club Challenge, Saint Helens v Sydney Roosters : Kristian Woolf manager of St Helens in the post game interview

St Helens Head Coach Kristian Woolf has said the change in venue for the Wigan derby will not affect how his team play the game.

The match was due to take place at the DW Stadium in front of 1,000 fans, but will now take place at the AJ Bell Stadium behind closed doors due to rising coronavirus cases.

He said: “We are all getting used to things being a little bit different. We have played well at neutral venues since the restart, I know we have had a few home games but the majority being at either Leeds, Warrington or Salford.

“It certainly hasn’t made any difference in terms of intensity, or how players approach the game. The quality has been really good, and the players deserve credit.

“We are happy to play wherever.”
