St Helens Head Coach Kristian Woolf has confirmed Sione Mata’utia will at least miss next week’s game against Salford Red Devils.
Mata’utia came off in the second half of Saints’ 40-6 win over Leeds Rhinos with an ankle injury. He was walking around the pitch after the match with crutches and a protective boot.
Despite this, Woolf is confident he will be back for at least the semi-final, which will take place at the Totally Wicked Stadium in a couple of week’s time.
Woolf said they will look closer at the issue over the coming days.
He said: “He’s obviously got a bit of an issue there. I don’t think it’s a terrible one that will keep him out of finals footy. But he obviously wont be available next week as it stands.
“He just needs to look after it, and I am extremely confident he will be alright for the semi final in a couple of weeks time.
