Super League on Friday night is always special and that was the case as Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR met in a golden point thriller, Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves collided in a real battle and Huddersfield Giants showed what they can do against Wakefield Trinity really opening the door for Castleford Tigers today against Hull FC.
The big game though was of course the meeting between Wigan and Warrington.
Fierce rivals, this game is always a big occasion but with the two sides jostling for position inside the top six and hoping to create further distance from seventh it had added significance.
Both sides went into the game keeping an eye on the top two spots as well adding to the importance whilst the difference between fourth and fifth is pronounced in the play-offs as fourth receive a home game and fifth do not.
It was a great and pulsating first half with a quick ruck.
Wigan twice pegged Warrington back after tries from Daryl Clark and James Harrison for the Wolves.
Wigan stormed to a 26-12 win in the second half scoring through Liam Marshall, Liam Farrell, Jake Wardle and Bevan French.
It was another damaging blow to Warrington whose play-off hopes are in peril.
Unsurprisingly with a woeful run of form since their flawless start to the season questions are starting to be asked of Daryl Powell.
The Wolves have lost to Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Castleford in a row, been dumped out of the cup and lost to Hull FC at the Magic Weekend.
Some fans believe a change of direction is needed:

Another highlighted recent comments from Josh Charnley about Powell and how the winger is now tearing it up at Leigh Leopards.

Meanwhile, another fan wanted “serious questions” asked of Powell.
Won 3 and lost 8 since the first of April.
Serious questions need asking of Powell as to why we've dropped off so heavy đź‘Ť— Josh McCluskey (@JoshMcCluskey8) July 14, 2023
Another meanwhile questioned the approach to substitutes in the middle. Warrington have been struggling with injuries in this area however.

One fan simply said it was woeful.
Woeful. Again…….
