An intriguing clash on Friday night rugby as 2nd placed Warrington travel to Hull . FC ended their long winless run at Wigan last month and have now won 4 of their last 5 , albeit the 4 wins coming against sides in the bottom half of the table .
Despite sitting 2nd in the table Warrington have been less than convincing on their last 2 games away from the HJ , they lost at Catalans and nearly surrendered a big lead at Wakefield last Thursday.
You have to feel that Steve Price would have had a strong word with his side after the game at Trinity and I think they’ll prove too strong here for Hull . FC were quite fortunate to win at London on Sunday and lost heavily at home to Wakefield the week before . The Airlie Birds have so far only beaten Leeds at home so you have to think the 1/2 for an away win is justified . I’d certainly want more than 7/4 for Hull given their last performance at home .
At this early stage it does look like a fight between Wire and Saints for the shield and home advantage in the Play Offs , I actually think those 2 will be at Old Trafford in October too. The Wolves have only lost once so far this season and can keep that record after tonight .
Warrington concede a 6 point start on the handicap and I think they can cover that and win this by around 11-15 points , I can’t see them taking their foot off the gas like they did 8 days ago .There’s no doubt FC are improving as they get players back but I just think this Wire side will be too strong for them.
Back in the England set up Charnley looks the man at 8/1 for the 1st try , Talanoa at 12/1 looks the pick in black and white .
Clark , Austin and Ratchford head the man of the match betting at around 7/1 in a wide open market. It’s take your pick really but I’d possibly just favour Ratchford . As for Hull Houghton heads the market at 8/1 , but Albert Kelly is way too big at 16/1 and that looks value to me .
Leeds travel to Hull KR next Thursday as always please gamble responsibly .
