Willie Peters calls for consistency from officials after Wigan defeat

Hull KR came up short in golden pound extra time last night.

The Robins led 22-14 late on big came up short in the end as some fans focused on some key decisions.

After the game speaking on BBC Radio Humberside, Hull KR boss Willie Peters refused to blame the officials but called for consistency.

“Look, we were in a position to win, I’m not going to blame any referees. I will say there was a couple of decisions tonight that were in the ruck that they’ve let go in the past and tonight they made a ruling on, so now all I want to see is consistency around that.

“Once you make certain decisions in the ruck, well let’s be consistent with it. But in the overall scheme, I’m not going to blame any referees or anything like that. It’s credit to Wigan, they’re a quality team and they showed again tonight why they’re a quality club.”

He confirmed that it was around the ruck that left him confused:

“Yeah a little bit in the play the ball. You know a lot of the time if a guy doesn’t play it properly or goes off the mark then it would be more so the attacker that gets penalised, but then tonight was the other way around there was a couple there I just have a look at that, but as I say all we look for or one as coaches is consistency, but it’s not the reason why you know we’re in a position in the game.
