Wighton rejects Raiders’ offer

It has been revealed that Canberra Raiders five eighth Jack Wighton has rejected a $750,000 contract extension with the Green Machine.

Wighton’s agent had this to say to the Daiky Telegraph:

“When he signed the original contract, he wasn’t playing for nsw or Australia and hadn’t won the Clive Churchill Medal.”

Wighton undoubtedly had his best season in 2019, after moving to five eighth the representative played made his New South Wales Origin debut, played in a Grand Final and won the Clive Churchill Medal for best on ground in the 2019 NRL Grand Final.
