Wigan youngster joins Canberra

Wigan Warriors youngster Harry Rushton has signed for Canberra Raiders on a three-year deal from 2021.

The 18-year-old forward becomes the latest player to join the Raiders from Wigan, after John Bateman, George Williams and Ryan Sutton.

Rushton was also part of the Warriors academy side that beat St Helens in the Academy Grand Final last year. He has also represented England at Under-16 and Academy level.

Raiders Recruitment and High-Performance Director Peter Mullholland told the club website: “Harry is one of the most promising young backrowers in the United Kingdom.

“We’ve had a lot of success with the Englishmen that we’ve brought over and Harry is another player who we see as having a lot of potential and who will fit in with our organisation.”
