Ahead of Tuesday’s end-of-season awards night, the three finalists for the Super League Young Player of the Year (YPOY) have been named with one player from each of Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves and St Helens nominated.
Tuesday night marks the Rugby League Awards Dinner at which all the major awards, including Super League Man, Woman, and Wheels of Steel will be announced, whilst the Young Player of the Year for each competition will be announced too.
The YPOY candidates for the Women’s Super League were announced on Thursday with Leeds Rhinos having two players nominated in Connie Boyd and Ruby Bruce, whilst the 2025 winner Isabel Rowe was the other nominee.
Wigan Warriors also have a representative in the men’s award with Jack Farrimond nominated following another strong season that was sadly cut short by injury.
Farrimond played 14 games in Super League but also won the Lance Todd Trophy as the Man of the Match in the Challenge Cup final win over Hull KR.

Super League Young Player of the Year nominees revealed
Farrimond will be going up against Ewan Irwin and Harry Robertson for the prize with Irwin the youngest of the three nominees at just 18.
Making 17 appearances in Super League this year, Irwin has registered seven assists and helped guide the team during the abscence of George Williams, with whom he’ll hope to take Warrington to a first Grand Final since 2018.
The other nominee, Harry Robertson, won the award in 2025 and was again at the heart of everything St Helens did well, playing in 25 of the 27 Super League games this year and doing so predominantly in the halves as he showcased another facet to his game.
Both he and Farrimond are 20, with the YPOY rules stating that a player must be aged 21 or under at the start of the season.
