Wigan Warriors vs Wakefield Trinity: Kick-off time, TV channel and score prediction

For the second time in just over a week, Wigan take on Wakefield but this time they play just days after a derby against rivals St Helens.

After being soundly beaten by the Champions on Good Friday, Wigan will want to make a statement and get back on the horse showing that they are still the biggest threat to the Saints’ crown in 2022.

As for Wakefield, they experienced similar disappointment on Thursday as their good form was ended by a thumping loss to Castleford. If they want to play play-off rugby, a return to form here is a must.

Kick-off time and TV channel

The game kicks off at 15:00.

There will be no TV coverage of the game but highlights will be available on Super League’s YouTube channel.

Predicted Line-ups

Wigan Warriors
Wigan are boosted by the return of Kaide Ellis from suspension who will take over at prop. Speaking of bans, Sam Powell is available despite the huge ban he’s set to face after the derby with those suspensions not yet taking effect. The Warriors have lost Thomas Leuluai through injury so Harry Smith will take over in the halves. There is still no Zak Hardaker, so Wigan’s backline will remain the same.

Wakefield Trinity
Willie Poching made a number of changes to his 21-man squad as he looks to freshen things up playing just days after a disappointing defeat to Castleford. With Jacob Miller back in the fold, Poching may look to play all of his big players with Lee Gaskell at fullback as Max Jowitt potentially fills in on the wing with no Tom Johnstone available. With no Liam Hood, Liam Kay will play at nine with Harry Bowes on the bench. Brad Walker may also come back into the team after impressing earlier this season.
