Wigan Warriors vs Salford Red Devils: Kick-off time, team news and how you can watch from home

Perhaps one of Super League’s most underrated players is celebrated today as Sam Powell enjoys his testimonial as two of Super League’s four semi-finalists in 2022 collide less than two weeks ahead of the Super League kick off in 2023.

This comes as Powell’s Wigan Warriors take on the Salford Red Devils this afternoon in a game that could shed light on both sides’ chances of going one step further in 2023.

Here is everything you need to know about the game.

Kick-off time:

The game kicks off at 15:00 at the DW Stadium. There is no OurLeague coverage unlike with other fixtures. You can watch on Wigan TV which you can subscribe for here.

Team News:

The announced squad from Matt Peet and Wigan consists of entirely first team players for the first time this pre-season, with the likes of Jacob Douglas and Junior Nsemba keeping their places from games against Barrow and Whitehaven.

The Warriors in fact have their first 19 squad numbers available for the game as Peet’s men prepare for the new season.

Salford are without the likes of Ken Sio and Joe Burgess. Though they have named a very strong squad.

Newly named skipper Kallum Watkins returns from injury and will captain the side for the first time in 2023 today.
