Wigan Warriors vs Leigh Leopards team news with one doubt and seven ruled out

Matt Peet Wigan Warriors

Wigan Warriors have the opportunity to return to the top of Super League when they take on Leigh Leopards tonight. The Warriors got back to winning ways last time out against Huddersfield Giants but they can reassert themselves as the dominant team in the division with a result.

Matt Peet’s side might have their work cut out, though, with Leigh winning their last four and approaching the clash at the Brick Community Stadium in red hot form. The Leopards know a win would take them to within three points of the play-off picture as they make a late push to claim a top six spot.

There’s plenty riding on the clash for both teams then and here’s a look at the team news going into this one.

Wigan Warriors team news

Wigan were able to welcome back Kruise Leeming and Adam Keighran last time out after seeing the pair overcome their respective issues and with no fresh injury concerns, Peet has made just one change with Jacob Douglas coming in for Sam Eseh, following his loan to Hull FC.

The Warriors still find themselves without a host of key names, though, with Bevan French sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Willie Isa (ankle) and Mike Cooper (head) continue to be absent, too, while Tom Forber misses out due to an ankle issue.

Brad O’Neill has also been ruled out for the season after rupturing his ACL in the loss to Warrington Wolves.

Leigh Leopards team news

Lam’s side are looking relatively healthy at present but they’re still missing a number of key players.

Tom Amone and Gareth O’Brien miss the game through concussion protocols and won’t be involved and it remains to be seen if Matt Moylan features. Moylan has been named in the 21-man squad but he has been struggling with a rib issue since the club’s win over St Helens.

As such, he missed the win over Castleford on Thursday night and he remains a doubt with Lam rated him at 50-50 ahead of the contest.
