Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves faced off in Las Vegas in a Super League first and now the player ratings are in.
Whilst everyone hoped for an intense clash similar to that we saw in Round One when Wigan lost to Leigh, the game ended up as a blowout in the Warriors’ favour with Warrington failed to turn up.
Wigan ended up as 48-24 winners but they had been 42-0 up after an hour in what was a dominant performance that saw eight different try-scorers for Matt Peet’s side.
Both Matt Peet and Sam Burgess named unchanged teams for the game with the major selection calling coming for Burgess when he opted for Oli Leyland over Stefan Ratchford.
Wire were looking to make it three from three whilst Wigan were looking to build on their huge win over Hull FC in Round Two, with the Warriors having lost 1-0 in Round One.
Here are our players ratings as Wigan Warriors took on Warrington Wolves in Las Vegas.

Jai Field – 9
Lit the game up early on with a break but his pass was fired into the stands. Later made a try-saving tackle on Lachlan Fitzgibbon. Set up Marshall’s break and was there to receive the pass to score at the end. Bullet pass to Jake Wardle.
Abbas Miski – 8
Solid under the high ball. Scored acrobatically in the corner, did very well to stay in touch.
Adam Keighran – 8
His catch and pass to set up Miski’s score was a wonderful piece of skill. Kicked flawlessly from the tee.
Jake Wardle – 8
Won’t score an easier try all season but he gets those chances from constantly making the right decisions and being in the right place.
Liam Marshall – 8
Came incredibly close to opening the scoring with his acrobatic effort. Drew in Matty Dufty and made the pass to Jai Field to score Wigan’s fifth before finally getting on the scoresheet late on.
Bevan French – 9
Reacted fastest to Nsemba’s offload to score. Linked up nicely to set up Harry Smith. Broke the game open again for the sixth try and the seventh try.
Harry Smith – 9
Controlling kicking game that helped get Wigan around the field. His instinctive decision to run on the last helped create French’s try. Then played a brilliant one-two with Bevan French to score a great try.
Liam Byrne – 7
Perhaps lucky not to be sent to the sin bin early on for a crusher tackle. Was part of a pack who controlled the game.
Kruise Leeming – 7
Large parts of Wigan’s success came off the back of their ruck speed which Leeming helped control well.
Luke Thompson – 8
Scored the seventh from putting himself in the right position. Proved his position as one of the best props in Super League.
Junior Nsemba – 9
Wonderfully claimed Harry Smith’s kick to set up Liam Marshall but the winger knocked on. His efforts and offload also created Bevan French’s try.
Liam Farrell – 8
Put in the standard Liam Farrell performance. You know exactly what you’re going to get from a player of his quality and experience.
Kaide Ellis – 8
Showcasing himself to be the best loose forward in the competition.
Interchanges
Patrick Mago – 7
Always makes an impact off the bench even when he plays short minutes.
Tyler Dupree – 8
Came off and took a huge hit-up before scoring within a minute.
Sam Walters – 8
His brilliant carry and fast play the ball helped set up Smith’s score.
Tom Forber – 7
Supported French to set up Thompson brilliantly.
Warrington Wolves player ratings
Matt Dufty – 7
Was unfortunate to see Abbas Miski’s try awarded when he looked to have made a brilliant try-saving tackle. Showed his electric speed multiple times but often without any support. Got a late try for his hard work.
Josh Thewlis – 5
Under pressure from Liam Marshall on the kick which saw him spill it and allow Tyler Dupree to score.
Arron Lindop – 7
A lot to ask of the 18-year-old when he’s going up against the likes of Wardle and Marshall. Didn’t give up on Williams’ kick and was rewarded with a try.
Toby King – 6
Made multiple strong defensive reads and was maybe unlucky to have a try ruled out. Claimed a short drop-out as well to take some pressure off.
Matty Ashton – 6
Brilliant try-saver when tapping the ball behind. Carried the ball hard but offered no attacking opportunities so had to create one himself by intercepting a Bevan French pass to run the length of the field in the final minute to score a consolation.
George Williams – 5
Was imply outshone by his opposite number, as many of his teammates were. Smart kick through for Lindop’s score.
Oli Leyland – 5
Kicked for territory well but another who saw the game pass him by given Wigan’s dominance.
Luke Yates – 6
Was oozing claret early on but put in a shift.
Danny Walker – 5
Tried to kick a 40/20 to spin the game on its head but kicked out on the full instead.
Paul Vaughan – 5
Offloaded nicely to help set up Harrison’s try but relatively quiet.
Lachlan Fitzgibbon – 5
The victim of what looked like an early crusher tackle but stayed on, caused plenty of problems with the brilliant lines that he ran put dropped the ball a couple of times.
Dan Russell – 5
Ran strong lines but was somewhat anonymous barring a rare grubber kick early on.
Ben Currie – 6
Was put on his back by Nsemba but went about his defence as he always does. Industrious. Brilliant catch to set up Harrison’s score.
Interchanges
Sam Powell – 6
Came on after 50 minutes when the game was already done.
Jordy Crowther – 5
Made somewhat of an impact from the bench.
James Harrison – 6
Brilliant first carry and was on hand to support Ben Currie and score.
Joe Philbin – 5
Strong carries from Philbin but rarely involved.
