Wigan Warriors v Leigh Leopards teams confirmed as Matt Peet and Adrian Lam name sides

Wigan Warriors

Matt Peet and Adrian Lam have named their respective teams for tonight’s Super League play-off semi-final showdown between Wigan Warriors and Leigh Leopards.

After a week of uncertainty and club statements, tonight’s game will go ahead as planned and the winner will become the first to book their spot in next week’s Grand Final at Old Trafford. Leigh and Wigan are the form teams in the competition and they’ll both fancy their chances of progressing to play either Hull KR or St Helens at the showpiece event.

The Leigh boss spoke earlier in the week about illness in the camp, but there’s no surprises in his line-up this evening. In fact, he has named an unchanged 17 to the one to that beat Wakefield Trinity with relative ease last Friday.

That means that Joe Ofahengaue and Robbie Mulhern start and they’ll be tasked with getting the Leopards on the front foot early doors and laying the platform for the likes of Lachlan Lam and Edwin Ipape to play off.

Owen Trout is named in the back-row once more, while Jack Hughes is on the bench alongside Alec Tuitavake, Matt Davis and Brad Dwyer. Ben McNamara is the 18th man for Leigh.

Matt Peet has named an unchanged side, too, which again is absolutely no surprise. The Warriors will start with their preferred outside back line up of Abbas Miski, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle and Liam Marshall. They also have Warrington Wolves-bound Liam Byrne starting, with Ethan Havard and Patrick Mago coming off the bench to play through the middle.

Sam Walters can expect to play through the middle at some point of the game, too, with Junior Nsemba being used as an interchange. Harvie Hill is the 18th man for the Cherry and Whites.
