Wigan Warriors v Leeds Rhinos team news with 8 ruled out

Leeds Rhinos Wigan Warriors

Leeds Rhinos travel to face Wigan Warriors tonight knowing that they need a win to keep their Super League play-off hopes alive.

Brad Arthur’s side will take some hope from the fact that they defeated Wigan just over a month ago but that was a very different side with both Jai Field and Bevan French returning since that 30-4 victory.

Wigan are coming off a 24-20 win over Hull KR which saw them return to the top of Super League meaning Matt Peet’s side will be full of confidence and intent on revenge.

As for Leeds Rhinos, they’re heading into tonight’s game fresh off the back of their biggest win of the season, a 68-6 hammering of Hull FC, although they’ll face a far stiffer test tonight in the shape of Wigan Warriors.

The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and kicks off at 8:00 pm and the team news for each side is now in.

Wigan Warriors team news

Matt Peet has named an unchanged 21-man squad from the one he named ahead of the clash with Hull KR and it could well be an unchanged matchday squad given how well that game went.

The likes of Brad O’Neill still remains out for the season but there was a positive boost regarding Willie Isa who was back in training this week and could make a return this season still.

Fellow veteran Mike Cooper also remains out.

Leeds Rhinos team news

The biggest blow for Leeds Rhinos is that full-back Lachie Miller is out and his season could be over. The speedster was vital in the Rhinos’ win over Wigan last time out and he’s seemed to hit form at the right time this season.

However, it was confirmed that a hamstring injury will rule him out for at least two weeks meaning that unless the Rhinos do the improbable and make the play-offs, then his season is done.

Mickael Goudemand replacing him is the only change but the Rhinos remain without long-term absentees Tom Holroyd, Morgan Gannon, Max Simpson and Ash Handley.
